I know this topic has come up before for different versions of Joomla and JCE, but I haven't found any solutions from previous posts that work (so far). I've started building a new website with a clean install of Joomla 3.4.3, and I've installed the JCE editor 2.5.2. (I have since also installed the File Manager and Image Manager plug-ins). No matter what I do or how I try, I can't make the dialogue box in JCE work to insert images. The file browser remains empty; clicking tabs for "Rollover," "Advanced" etc. do nothing; "Refresh/Insert/Cancel" do nothing; and now, most annoying, there's no "X" even to close the dialogue window--I have to close the browser page in order to get rid of the dialogue box. The problem occurs to the same extent with tables: I can create a table, but I can't use the dialogue box to adjust its settings because none of the buttons and tabs, not even "Cancel," work. I don't experience this problem in TINYMCE.

The problem occurs in, both, Firefox and Chrome. (Chrome is my preferred browser for CMS.)

I've tried re-installing JCE a couple of times now. I've tried every recommended settings change I could find, to no avail. Admittedly, I'm new to Joomla 3.4, so I'm open to being schooled in my mistakes here. I have worked a little bit on Joomla 1.5, but I'm not skilled enough in Joomla 3.4 to say confidently that there's something wrong with the JCE or with my installation of it.

Since others have experienced this issue in past, and since there's more experience to go around here, I'd greatly appreciate some guidance and some explanation of what might be causing it. Thanks in advance for your generous time and help.
